Makhdoom Journal of Islamic Studies (MJIS) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal published biannually by Jamia Jalaliyya, Mundakkulam, Kerala, India. The journal is committed to advancing scholarly research in Islamic Studies, Arabic Language, Islamic History, Culture, and Thought.

About the Name: Makhdoom

The journal is named after the Makhdoom scholarly-Sufi tradition of South India, which pioneered a distinctive Dars system and curriculum in Muslim educational institutions. Renowned for their profound contributions to Islamic sciences (Uloom) and the preservation of traditional Islamic knowledge, the Makhdooms represent the rich intellectual heritage of Kerala Muslims and the enduring legacy of the Makhdoom family.
